"Avèk èd nan Kanada Dezas Kanada nou te kapab pote nan 12 nan pwen ou Zewo De Sistèm. Nou te pote twous yo soti nan Victoria avèk nou ansanm ak lòt èd nan Dalla Town nan Burma. Nou te achte bokit yo nan mache plastik la nan Yangon ak anplwaye pò yo pran yo nan vilaj la. Men kèk foto nan nou mete kanpe sistèm yo ak ba yo lwen. Ou pa gen okenn lide sou sa yon benediksyon sa a te pou vilaj sa a.

Nou mete kanpe sistèm sa a nan kòmansman fevriye. Anplis de sa, nou te gen enstriksyon yo te tradui e nou te enprime nan Burmes. Nou pral tounen ankò ane pwochèn ak plis èd. Yo trè pòv ak anpil nan zòn nan bwè dlo soti nan letan ak fouye yo fouye nan men yo kolekte dlo a soti nan sezon lapli a. 17 timoun ap viv nan kabann an bwa sa a."

“With the help of Disaster Aid Canada we were able to bring in 12 of your Point Zero Two Systems. We brought the kits from Victoria with us along with other aid into Dalla Township in Burma. We bought the buckets in the plastic market in Yangon and hired porters to take them to the village. Here are some photographs of us setting up the systems and giving them away. You have no idea of what a blessing this was for this village. We set up this system at the beginning of Feb. We also had the instructions translated and printed up in Burmese. We are going back again next year with more aid. They are very poor and much of the area drinks water from ponds and ditches they dig by hand to collect the water from the rainy season. 17 children live in this wooden shack.”

The only line of defense between me and a veritable galaxy of painful mosquito bites was the humble $11 bug repellent I almost left at home.
